According to travel survey respondents, the most common reason cited for taking overnight trips to New Mexico was visiting friends and relatives.
Are travelers a part of your customer base?
According to TrekkSoft, 2018:
40% of smartphone users in the US are comfortable researching, booking and planning their entire trip to a new travel destination using only a mobile device.
Over 70% of US travelers agree that they always use their smartphones when traveling. Travelers most frequently use their mobile devices to research activities or attractions, to locate shopping areas and restaurants, or to look up directions.
Over 30% of travelers across countries are interested in using digital assistants to research or book travels and are already searching for everything from hotels to flights, to things to do in their destination.
Travel-related mobile searches for "tonight" and "today" have grown by more than 150% since 2016.
New Mexico’s Travel and Tourism businesses enjoy advantageous positions and these tips can help you set your business up for success.
1. Get on the Map
Take advantage of free map listings for local businesses and get noticed by tourists using their smartphones and searching for companies just like yours.
2. Get reviewed
When travelers are doing their research, this includes reading your reviews.
3. Get Listed
Get your business listed on websites like Yelp and TripAdvisor. These are the go-to places where travelers find out what to do and where to go in your destination.
4. Constantly update your photos.
Nobody visits businesses that post poor-quality photos or worse, no photos at all. Consistently update your photos to ensure that your listing is current and that your photos encourage tourists to stop by your place.
Travelers want to know what to expect. They want to know what your business looks like, what menu items your reviewers are raving about and what ambiance they can expect.
5. Be social
Social Media is a multi-marketing-tool. Not only are we able to extend our customer service by bringing more value in the form of education and diversion but we are also able to connect with travelers on a more personal level.
